Preparing your pet’s hair or fur sample is easier when you have the order details and instructions together. Test My Pets supplies digital instructions, so you can begin preparing once your order email arrives. No physical kit is dispatched.
1. Find your order email
Keep your confirmation email and instructions open while you prepare. Check your inbox and spam folder, and make sure you are using the email address supplied at checkout. Follow the registration process and use the unique code provided for your order.
If the email is missing or a step is unclear, contact the Test My Pets support team before posting. Have your order reference ready so they can help you find the right instructions.
2. Read the collection and packaging directions
Your current instructions explain the sample amount, collection method, packaging and postal address. Read them before collecting hair or fur. This avoids having to collect another sample or reopen an envelope after it has been prepared.
Use the instructions for your own order. An old screenshot or directions for a different test may contain different details. If you have a question about treated fur or collecting from your pet, check the help centre or ask the team.
3. Keep each pet’s sample separate
When testing more than one pet, prepare one sample at a time. Check that the pet’s name, species and order information match. Label and package each sample as directed, keeping it separate from the others.

4. Know when to expect your results
We email you when our testing team receives your sample. Your results are then emailed within 7 working days of sample receipt. Postal travel time comes before that processing period, so the clock does not start at checkout or when you post the envelope.
